Pascal Siakam Undergoes Surgery for Right Adductor Injury

Raptors Forward Sidelined Indefinitely

Toronto, November 6, 2022 (8:38 AM)

The Toronto Raptors have announced that forward Pascal Siakam underwent successful surgery to repair a torn right adductor muscle last Friday. The surgery was performed in Los Angeles by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, a renowned orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine.

Siakam initially sustained the injury during a game against the Memphis Grizzlies on May 8th. He aggravated the injury during a game against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night, causing him to exit the game prematurely. An MRI scan later confirmed the severity of the tear.

"Pascal is a key part of our team and we're disappointed that he'll be out for an extended period of time," said Raptors President Masai Ujiri. "We're confident that he'll return to full strength and continue to be a valuable asset to our organization."

Siakam's injury is a significant blow to the Raptors, who were already struggling to find consistency in the early part of the season. The 28-year-old forward was averaging 24.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game before the injury.

The Raptors have not provided a specific timeline for Siakam's return, but it's expected that he will be out for at least several months. The team will provide updates on his recovery progress as they become available.
