Windows 11 Adoption Rate on Steam

Steady Increase in Windows 11 Market Share

According to the latest Steam Hardware and Software Survey, the adoption rate of Windows 11 is rising steadily among Steam users. Currently, 45.81% of Steam users have Windows 11 installed on their systems, marking a significant increase of 12.5% since February when it held a 16.84% market share.

Windows 10 Remains Dominant

Despite the rise in Windows 11 adoption, Windows 10 remains the dominant operating system for Steam users. In the June 2024 Steam Hardware Survey, Windows 10 accounted for 46.63% of Steam users, down slightly from its previous 46.08% market share.

Slower Adoption Rate Compared to Windows 10

While Windows 11 is gaining traction among Steam users, its adoption rate is slower compared to Windows 10. The survey reveals that it is taking about twice as long for users to migrate to Windows 11 as it did for Windows 10.
